Fair Ground Impact was built on a simple belief: that design is a justice issue. Too many well-meaning projects land in communities without ever asking what those communities actually needed. Too many planning processes looked like participation but felt like performance.

We started Fair Ground because we knew there was a better way to do it — and because the people doing the real work in communities deserved a partner who showed up to build alongside them, not just observe.

We don't just show up to observe. We show up to build — alongside the people who live and work in the communities we serve. Our work focuses on creating environments where ideas can grow, relationships can strengthen, and communities can thrive.

Whether supporting a new initiative, reimagining an underused space, or helping an organization build stronger community participation, Fair Ground works alongside partners to turn ambitious ideas into real places and experiences.

Why Fair Ground exists.

WHO ARE WE

Showing up isn't enough. We design for full participation — not just formal inclusion — and we measure what actually changes for people.

Equity over access

Spaces aren't neutral. The way we build and activate environments either opens doors or closes them. We take that seriously.

Place shapes possibility

The people in a community know it better than any consultant ever will. We design processes that center their knowledge — not ours.
